Over the years, we have completed a vast number of projects. With each and every project we ensure that our team provides a service that achieves the highest of standards. A small sample of our projects are as follows.
Gate Construction: Iroko Timber “Gipping” style
Dimensions: (Main Gates) 1.25m (at the post) 1.0m (at the centre) x 4.6m wide (2.3m per leaf), with matching pedestrian gate: 1.25m (H) x 1.0m (W)
Automation: BFT Sub underground automation (240v)
Entry System: Telguard T-Bespoke GSM audio panel.
Description: The clients request was for a low to medium height gate with automation. This was to fit within a new wall/entrance using builders employed by the client. Included within the brief was a matching pedestrian gate. The gate requirement was for timber and the choice in this instance was Iroko (a very durable West African hardwood). Although the gates were not that tall, it was recommended to install Steel within the brick piers to fully support the gates as the opening was wide.
Gate Construction: Bespoke steel to customers own design – Powder coated Grey
Dimensions: 1.8m (at the post) 2.2m (at the centre) x 4.4m wide (2.2m per leaf). Matching railings to both sides
Automation: BFT Hydraulic RAM (Surface)
Entry System: BPT 2 Button audio entry panel with hard wired handsets in the main house and annex
Description: The client was having a new house built, and had already researched the style and make of gate. The choice of surface automation was made purely because of the uneven nature of the opening. Whilst underground could have been used, it would have significantly increased the cost. Once the gates and posts were installed, and the drive was finished (by the building contractors) the railings were fitted to finish the entrance, and secure the property.
Gate Construction: Bespoke Oak gates and posts supplied by the client
Automation: FAAC S800 underground motors (240v)
Entry System: Telguard Junior
Description: Although this entrance is effectively not the main entrance, there is no less attention to detail. The gates and posts are Oak, with custom made hinges to accommodate the weight. This was one of several gates on the estate that Index are involved with, in conjunction with Index Security installing and maintaining state of the art IP CCTV, Intruder, and Fire systems and digital entry systems.
Gate Construction: Steel. Powder coated Black
Automation: BFT Sub R underground motors (240v)
Entry System: Telguard T-Bespoke Flush mount unit
Description: Fairly simple brief to provide security to the exiting entrance, whilst keeping a focus on aesthetics. The piers were designed to allow and integral letterbox and flush fit entry panel. Granite setts (cobbles) were laid between the piers to hide and protect underground cables.
Location:Hook Heath Woking
Gate Construction: Steel “Austenwood” style Powder coated British Racing Green
Dimensions: 1.8m (At the pier) 2.4m (At the centre)
Automation: BFT Sub R underground motors (240v)
Entry System: Telguard T-Bespoke GSM Flush mount unit
Description: We were asked to remove the existing piers and walls and replace with a new secure entrance. This entailed a handmade brick wall with offset curve coming from 1.0m high piers to sweep into the main gate piers. The finished effect was superb, albeit difficult to achieve. The wall contains a flush mount post box and Telguard GSM entry unit, In addition there are ground lights built within the entrance wall, and two custom designed house signs with LED illumination. These all work with a light sensor. The original job was to make good the tarmac drive however, once the new entrance was finished the client asked for a new drive, which we undertook. The old drive was removed and a new block pave drive was laid. On this project we made a steel drop in frame rather than just posts set in the ground. This makes sure the gate cannot move, and also provides secure ducting underneath the drive for cables. The gate and frame are made to fit exactly, off site and then delivered as one unit. Whilst it is slightly more costly, the guarantees on stability, security and fitting are worth it.
Gate Construction: Aluminium. Qualicoat finish gloss black
Dimensions: 1.25m (At the pier) 1.4m (At the centre) 3.5m (Wide)
Automation: BFT Virgo Articulated Arm (24v)
Entry System: N/A
Description: The main reason for gates and automation was security with regards to prevent people continually parking on the clients drive. As the gate is relatively small, two 100mm sq posts were concreted behind the existing piers, which were more than sufficient to take the weight. A granite sett strip was laid between the piers to hide and protect the cables. Automation was fixed to posts and being surface, access to the motors is very accessible should the need arise.
